Norbury Manor Primary School

Wellbeing Wednesday

Connecting, Learning, and Growing Together

At Norbury Manor Primary School, we believe that wellbeing is at the heart of learning. Our school motto, "Learners today, leaders tomorrow, make every moment count!" perfectly encapsulates our commitment to supporting our pupils' mental health and personal development.

Our Wellbeing Journey

On 1 May, we proudly participated in Croydon Council's inaugural Wellbeing Wednesday, an innovative initiative that aligns beautifully with our school values of:

  • Resilience: Facing challenges with determination
  • Empathy: Understanding and supporting one another
  • Peace: Creating a secure environment for learning
  • Community: Working together and caring for each other

The Five Ways to Wellbeing

Inspired by the Croydon Wellbeing Way, our pupils explored five key actions to boost mental health:

  1. Connect
    • Building meaningful relationships
  2. Be Active
    • Engaging in physical and mental exercise
  3. Take Notice
    • Practising mindfulness and awareness
  4. Keep Learning
    • Embracing curiosity and growth
  5. Give
    • Supporting others and our community

What Our Pupils Experienced

During the event, our pupils:

  • Learned new strategies for emotional resilience
  • Participated in interactive wellbeing activities
  • Discovered fun ways to support their mental health
  • Engaged with the Five A Day On Wellbeing Way storybook
